3 Cakes, 1 Transition, and the Messy Truth about Moving On

I want to take you back to March 31st.
Transitions are messy. They are intimidating. And if I am being completely honest with you they are actually quite scary. 🦁
A couple of weeks ago I had my final day with a long term client. I walked into the room and was greeted by not one, not two, but three cakes with my name on them.
It was such a beautiful and sweet moment. But even with all that sugar and celebration I still felt that familiar pit in my stomach. It is hard to leave a place where you are known and respected. Creating new adventures and stepping into the unknown is daunting.
I want you to know something important. Even the high level Executives and Board members I work with feel these exact same emotions. They toggle between pure excitement and deep anxiety just like the rest of us.
The difference is that they have learned to use that nervous energy to get really laser focused. They do not let the fear stop them. They let it fuel them.
One thing that makes any scary journey easier is having a friendly face to look for. It is always so much nicer to have pre met the people you are going to be navigating with. Knowing you have a partner in the room changes everything.
I have got you.
